Amphenol Socapex develop the Ethernet range of connectors with USB extenders and AOC HDMI in order to extend cable length over long distances. Indeed, the information transmission speed is more and more critical.

Need to plug your USB device but you don’t have enough length? Need to transmit a video signal but the HMDI port is not nearby? Amphenol Socapex extender is THE solution. Our products are plug and play, very easy to use, practical and the transmission of the information remains of excellent quality.

Two ranges of products available : USB and HDMI

1. USB

We manufacture USB3 reinforced connectors, dedicated to harsh environments but the standard length transmission is limited to 3m. Thanks to the extender, it’s possible to reach 8m with a total length of 11m. Main recommendation: it’s important to respect the signal direction from the host to the device, so from USB-A plug to the receptacle. The principle is the same for USB2.0 protocol, you can find our USBFTV range of connectors. In this case the length is limited to 4,8m and the total maximum distance is 19,2m (4 in a row maximum). You can find information related to those extenders on our product page USB Amplifiers.

2. HDMI

We manufacture HDMIFTV connectors for harsh environments, but the performances start to decline above 5m. AOC HDMI allows the distance extension until 100m. AOC means active optical cable; it’s a hybrid technology that uses the longer length transmission of fiber optic signals and the conversion between electrical and optical signals. It’s important to check that the AOC solution is compatible with the configuration:
